Community Workshops

RYC Tennis Club

In partnership with the USTA (United States Tennis Association) and the use of local schools and facilities, RYC was able to offer after school and summer tennis & literature camps to over 500 children and youth. These programs ran from 2007 through 2012. 


Oral History Project in collaboration with the Sonoma County Museum & Listening for a Change. Youth were trained to collect oral histories through interviews with Latino Community Members.

The interviews are archived in a permanent collection at the Sonoma County Museum.

African Drumming

Drumming taught by Adwoa Kudoto ~world renowned & award winning master drummer. Adwoa was the first female master drummer from Ghana and has performed and taught across the globe.

We offered 2 - 6 week session which were attended by over 50 K – 8th graders in the  greater Roseland area. 


RYC offered low cost Zumba classes with the support of the Roseland School District in collaboration with Juan. The classes were offered from 2007 – 2011 and have been successfully duplicated in the Roseland Area with other teachers.


Dia de Los Muertos Art

One of the first art programs offered by RYC. This one day art class was lead by artist Laura Hoffman. A group of 30 children and youth created art celebrating Dia de los Muertos through painting and mixed media.  

Bloco Rosa

Brazilian Rhythms were taught and our drummers performed in several community events.
